Some current ADT systems are similar to the smart systems that DFW Security installs. With both companies you can get a touchscreen smart hub, mobile apps, voice control, and the ability to add cameras and smart home devices that integrate with the security system.
ADT used to be way behind in their technology, especially cameras, but recently they've made some improvements. A big complaint from camera owners is that they frequently drop off the network and need to be reset. DFW Security includes a dedicated mesh network in all their camera packages. This allows the cameras to operate on their own WiFi and always stay connected, giving DFW Security a huge advantage over ADT.

This is where DFW Security really shines. Unfortunately, ADT has a bad reputation for customer experience. From long hold times to representatives that are unknowledgeable and difficult to understand, to equipment and technical support issues - we hear from lots of frustrated ADT customers.

ADT has dealers. That means the person or company who sells and installs your alarm system is going to sell your monitoring agreement to ADT corporate, and you may never speak to them again. DFW Security doesn't use subcontractors or dealers for sales or installation, so you know you're dealing with someone who cares about quality and a lasting relationship. All of our professional installers are licensed, background checked, drug tested employees of DFW Security in company vehicles.
DFW Security has thousands of 5-star customer reviews. For some reason ADT seems to have repressed their customer reviews on Google and Facebook from showing publicly. Perhaps their ratings were low? If not, why not show off all their happy customers? The reviews that do show aren't great, except for on a few random review sites across the web.

From what we can tell, ADT always requires at least a 36-month monitoring agreement. You get the best value with DFW Security on our 36-month agreement, but we also offer 12-month and month-to-month options.
Better Warranty
Both DFW Security and ADT offer service plans that include $0 charge for parts and labor as long as you're their customer. ADT's plan is more expensive and requires a trip charge, while DFW Security's platinum protection plan has $0 trip charge and $0 co-pay.
