Existing Access Control Systems
If your property already has an access control system, you may be wondering if it can be upgraded without replacing everything. The answer is yes!
In most cases, we can use your existing door hardware if it’s working. We will simply replace the controller, which is the “brain” of the system.
Existing door readers or pin pads can be re-used around 95% of the time. They must use a 28bit Wiegand encryption protocol, but that’s the most common type.
Schedule a Risk Assessment Site Walk
The best way to determine what an upgrade to your access control system will entail is to schedule a free site walk and consultation with DFW Security. Our experienced experts can test your current door entry system and help design the perfect solution for your needs and budget. While brand new systems cost more than upgrades, a site visit will help you avoid any hidden costs associated with retrofitting your older access control system.
